MFI Urges School to Stop Handing Out Condoms to 12 year-olds.

Today, MFI President Kris Mineau sent a letter to the Springfield School Committee urging them to rethink their new policy of handing out condoms to children as young as 12 years old.  (You can read it here.)  Reckless ‘health’ policies like these usurp parental authority and send the wrong message to our children.  As he told the School Committee, handing out condoms is like passing out permission slips for teen sex.  Abstinence education has consistently proven itself the best option for our families.  (Click here for a recent article in the Springfield Republican on the new condom policy.)
The Springfield condom policy does allow for parents to “opt-out” by submitting a form which you can download here. Those of you with children in the district are urged to do so.
