MA Catholics have new executive director

The Massachusetts Catholic Conference (MCC) Board of Governors, after an extensive search process, has announced the appointment of James F. Driscoll as the Executive Director following the death of Edward F. Saunders in August 2010. Gerald D. D’Avolio, Esq. had been serving on an interim basis since September.

“I look forward to working with the outstanding staff at the Massachusetts Catholic Conference as it continues to advance the mission and message of the church in the many moral, social and economic issues facing the Commonwealth,” said Driscoll in a released statement. I want to personally congratulate Jim Driscoll on his appointment, and thank Gerry D’Avolio for his service these last few months. MFI looks forward to continuing our relationship with MCC and the Bishops as we seek to advance pro-family and pro-life legislation on Beacon Hill. The relationship between our two organizations has been most rewarding over the past 20 years of MFI’s existence, and we look forward to continuing our work together on issues affecting marriage, family and the sanctity of human life.
