Our friends at the Center for Arizona Policy put out a special message to parents about bullying and the true agenda behind those supporting the anti-bullying efforts.
“Many have personal experiences with bullies. For some, these experiences can be truly terrible, even life-threatening. Bullying in any form is wrong and unacceptable,” writes Cathi Herrod, president of CAP. “In recent years, concerns about bullying have garnered national attention. But when you look behind the curtain at what is driving this nationwide dialogue, you find out that the groups that are pushing the ‘anti-bullying’ campaigns are the same organizations working to redefine marriage and to force cultural acceptance and affirmation of homosexual lifestyles.”
Herrod talks about her experience in Arizona, where SB 1462 looks on the surface to be a well-intentioned bill that prohibits bullying in schools, and requires teachers, school administrators, students and parents to undergo annual training to prevent bullying. But when you look at the groups backing the bill–Equality Arizona, the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), and the Anti-Defamation League (ADL)–there are serious questions that arise. “You see,” writes Herrod, “groups [like these] have used the bullying issue in order to gain access to our public schools. These are the groups that supporters of the bill will bring into schools to teach the anti-bullying training to our students.”
Parents must pay attention to what anti-bullying programs are being presented in their children’s schools. While MFI is working diligently to keep tabs on what is being taught, we do not have the access that parents have to school administrators, teachers and the students themselves. Please let us know by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org whenever your find out about questionable material being taught to students, with or without parental permission. This could be special assemblies, in-class movies, guest speakers, or anything that is contrary to your values.
We are confident that concerned parents in Worcester will accomplish this year the most effective OPT OUT of Sex Education movement we have ever seen
