Dear Friends of the Family,
I want to use this opportunity to formally introduce you to our newest member of the MFI team, Executive Vice-President Andrew Beckwith. A devout Christian, faithful husband and loving father, Andrew deeply shares our family values, most especially the sanctity of life and the definition of marriage. No stranger to our mission, for the last three years Andrew served on the MFI Board where I greatly valued his leadership and wisdom.
Andrew, his wife Karen, and their three children live in Wenham and attend North Shore Community Baptist Church. A graduate of Gordon College and the University of Minnesota Law School, Andrew is a judge advocate in the United States Marine Corps Reserve where he holds the rank of major. He has also served as an International Law Attorney and Chief Trial Counsel for the Department of Homeland Security.
Hitting the ground running (as all good marines do), Andrew accompanied me to the State House on Tuesday and testified before the Joint Committee on Public Health in opposition to the legalization of ‘medical’ marijuana. And as has become a custom at MFI, he was immediately thrown into the media fire with a number of newspaper quotes and fielding a call from a public radio station in the western part of the state. I am thrilled to have Andrew on board, and all of us at MFI are looking forward to enhancing our work for you, your family and your values on Beacon Hill and beyond. If you would like to send a personal welcome message to Andrew, or inquire about anything, please use this form to send him an email.
For our families,
Many of you asked if we would follow up on last week’s email about the drag show for teenagers in Newburyport. After pushback from parents and concerned citizens, the city assured the public that it would not be a drag show, but
