Obama administration taps GLSEN founder for senior Education post

The Obama administration has named the founder and former head of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) to a senior post in the federal Department of Education. Kevin Jennings founded GLSEN in Boston and will now serve as assistant deputy secretary at the Department of Education in the Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools.

GLSEN is the organization notorious for establishing the "gay-straight alliance" clubs in middle and high schools to push the homosexual agenda. In fact, it was Jennings who, as a teacher at Concord Academy, founded the first GSA club. GLSEN also hosts conferences for teachers and students to recruit them as purveyors of their radical materials.

GLSEN is also responsible the "Day of Silence" event that MFI has warned parents about which disrupts the entire school day with students remaining silent to stand in solidarity those practicing homosexual behavior.

"Jennings wrote the forward for a book, 'Queering Elementary Education,' which among other things praises teaching masturbation to a 7-year-old girl," writes FRC President Tony Perkins. "He has spoken publicly about a high school student he once counseled who was in a sexual relationship with an older man--yet Jennings never reported this abuse to the authorities, the school or the child's parent."

In his new position, Jennings will be in control of funding for the proposed "Safe Schools Improvement Act" that would force many public schools to add pro-homosexual policies to their discipline codes.

Newton middle school "sexting" reported

According to the Boston Globe, at least two students from FA Day Middle School in Newton were involved in sending suggestive photographs via text message, prompting administrators to hold an assembly last month to discuss the dangers of "sexting."

"We know about at least two students who were involved, but who knows how many examples of this are out there," said Brenda Keegan, Deputy Superintendent of Newton Public Schools. "We wanted to take a quick action on an education level and make sure we nipped it in the bud as soon as we heard anything."

The story broke in the school's student newspaper, and the administration confirmed that "a small number of 8th grade students ... have sent nude photographs via cell phone to their classmates."

“Any situation with sexting would have to be looked at on a case-to-case basis,” police spokesman Lt. Bruce Apotheker said in an interview with the Globe. “This is all so new that nothing is set in stone right now regarding how to deal with it. It depends on the intent, it depends on what exactly was sent. We are going to work closely training schools on this issue, because kids need to know once you send something out there, it’s out there forever.”

Former House Speaker DiMasi indicted

Former House Speaker Salvatore DiMasi, a key legislative player in defeating the Marriage Amendment in 2007, was indicted along with three friends yesterday by a grand jury for allegedly orchestrating a scheme that allowed DiMasi to pockets tens of thousands of dollars in payments from a software company while he was using his powerful office to make sure the company won state contracts. DiMasi faces up to 20 years in prison on each of seven counts of mail and wire fraud and up to five years for conspiracy. DiMasi and his associates, according to the indictment, plotted to rig a series of computer software contracts over golf games, at Democratic fundraisers, and in emails where DiMasi was referred to as "Coach."

New Hampshire approves same-sex "marriage" after Senate shenanigans

According to Cornerstone Policy Research, the committee of conference on the same-sex "marriage" amendment met to negotiate a compromise bill last week, and Sen. Sheila Roberge (R-Bedford) offered two reasonable changes. One change allowed "freedom of religious conscience" for private individuals and businesses, while the other called for a non-binding referendum on the ballot. Not one member of the committee would vote to second her motions.

Following a 6-1 vote (Roberge being the lone dissenter) to bring a slightly revised version back to the House and Senate, Sen. Roberge was replaced on the committee by the Senate President Sylvia Larsen. A committee of conference must have a unanimous vote to pass an amended bill out to the legislature for a new vote, so the Senate President replaced Roberge with Sen. Matthew Houde (D-Plainfield) who called in to cast a "yes" vote.

The amended bill received a 14-10 vote in the Senate, and was approved by the House 198-176. Governor Lynch was to sign the bill sometime after 5:00 pm.

Radical MA homosexuals target Washington voters for harassment

The founders of KnowThyNeighbor.org have found another state in which to spread their hateful anti-family rhetoric and encourage the harassment of voters. Tom Lang and Alex Westerhoff rose to fame in Massachusetts after posting the names of people who signed the VoteOnMarriage.org petition in 2005. They have since expanded their operation to Oregon, Florida and Arkansas, hoping to foster the same type of harassment as they caused here.

According to the Seattle Times, KTN is partnering with the Washington-based WhoSigned.org to post the names of those who signed the petition for Referendum 71, an attempt to overturn the state's 2009 Domestic Partner Expansion Bill. The bill is to take effect July 26 and bestow all but the word "marriage" on same-sex couples.

KTN and WhoSigned.org will create a searchable database of names and addresses of people who sign petitions asking the Legislature to put the new domestic-partnership measure before voters.

"This seems to be a typical pattern developing around the country where the homosexual lobby employs hostile, undemocratic, intimidating tactics wherever their interests or intent are challenged," said Larry Stickney, head of Protect Marriage Washington. "They take the politics of personal destruction to new levels."

Organizers have until July 25 to collect 120,577 signatures on the petitions. If they meet that requirement, the names of signers will then become public and be loaded onto the WhoSigned.org website. If the effort fails, the names will remain undisclosed.

Obama declares June LGBT month

In a presidential proclamation from the White House, Barack Obama has lauded what he calls "the determination and dedication" of the LGBT movement by proclaiming June as "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month," reports OneNewsNow. In the proclamation, Obama takes pride in being the first U.S. chief executive to appoint "openly LGBT" candidates to Senate-confirmed positions in the first 100 days of an administration. "I have joined efforts at the United Nations to decriminalize homosexuality around the world," he states. "Here at home, I continue to support measures to bring the full spectrum of equal rights to LGBT Americans." Among the measures he lists: "hate crimes" laws, civil unions, discrimination in the workplace, adoption rights, and end the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy.

If you recall, President Obama earlier this month released, with no comment, a proclamation about the National Day of Prayer, an event that President George W. Bush celebrated with White House activities. Unlike Bush, Obama chose to dedicate an entire month to homosexual behavior, and yet barely gave a nod to the National Day of Prayer.

Call2Fall announced for July 5th

The "Call2Fall" is the vision of Tony Perkins, president of Family Research Council in Washington, D.C. and an ordained minister. The Call2Fall is simply responding to God's "call to fall" in 2 Chronicles 7:14. We are asking pastors and churches to consider setting aside a definite time during worship on Sunday, July 5, 2009 to call their people to get on their knees and faces before the Lord in repentant prayer to forgive our sins and heal our land. Perkins is hoping that at least 40,000 churches will join in this corporate act of humility. Nearly 13,000 people and churches have already signed up. Please consider signing up and passing along this information to your pastor.
